Atkinson Fellowship in Public Policy

A year-long fellowship which gives Canadian journalists a stipend of $75,000 to investigate a policy issue and to write articles about it for the Toronto Star.

CJF Aboriginal Journalism Fellowships

Two fellowships which are for Aboriginal journalists to spend a month at the CBC’s Aboriginal Centre, in Winnipeg, to report on a story about Aboriginal issues in Canada for the CBC.

The Fellowship for International Development Reporting

An opportunity for journalists with at least five years of experience to focus on a reporting project which will bring international issues to a Canadian audience.

The Fellowship in Global Journalism

A year-long fellowship at the Munk School for those who have completed some form of post-secondary education or formal training. The 20 fellows selected will learn about journalism skills and have access to a set of media networks for freelance work and mentorship.

The EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship

A fellowship for young Canadian journalists and post-secondary students to go on a week-long tour of EU institutions and media outlets in Brussels. Applicants must submit a piece on issues facing the EU or on EU-Canadian relations.  

Knight International Journalism Fellowship

A year-long program for individuals to learn about innovation and new technology.

The Martin Wise Goodman Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University

An opportunity for Canadian journalists in the middle of their careers to spend a year studying at Harvard University to broaden their intellectual horizons.

The Michener-Deacon Fellowships

There are two year-long fellowships for investigative journalism and for students and journalists in an accredited journalism school

R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellowship

A fund for Canadian journalists, students and staffers of any medium to support significant foreign reporting, including travel, reporting and research expenses.

William Southam Journalism Fellowships

An opportunity for Canadian journalists in the middle of their careers to spend a year living and studying at Massey College, at the University of Toronto, to broaden their intellectual horizons.
