The Canadian Journalism Foundation has announced the two winners of its expanded Aboriginal Journalism Fellowship.

Wawmeesh G. Hamilton, a graduate student at the University of British Columbia School of Journalism, will spend the fellowship investigating and reporting on how elderly Aboriginal sex offenders are re-integrated into their communities. Nikki Wiart, a producer with Global News Edmonton, will be reporting on the effects the foster care system has on Aboriginal children.

Both winners will be presented awards at the 2015 Canadian Journalism Foundation Awards gala on June 3 in Toronto.
