A set of awards celebrating excellence in photojournalism at community media in Alberta.

AWNA BNC Awards of Excellence

A set of awards celebrating excellence in newspapers of similar circulation in Alberta.

Canadian Community Newspaper Awards

A set of awards recognizing the work of community Canadian newspapers.

Canadian Hillman Prize

An award honouring investigative reporting that causes change on the issue(s) being reported.

Canadian Online Publishing Awards

A set of awards recognizing the work of Canadian publications and companies that produce online content.

The CAJ Awards

A set of 13 awards for journalists who have had their work first published in a Canadian publication or outlet.

CCWPF Press Freedom Award

An award for a journalist(s) or media worker(s) whose work in Canadian print or electronic media made a significant contribution to freedom of expression

CFWF International Bursary

An award for agricultural and farm journalists to travel to the annual International Federation of Agricultural Journalists annual congress.

CJF Innovation Award

An award for a news organization that has done something innovative that has affected the work they produce.

CJF Jackman Award for Excellence in Journalism

An award for an organization and publication whose work hasaffected the community they serve.

The Data Journalism Awards

A set of awards recognizing data journalism by individuals, media companies and non-profit groups.

Dave Greber Freelance Writing Awards

A set of awards for freelance social justice writers whose work will be published as a magazine article or a book.

Digital Publishing Awards

A set of awards recognizing the editorial work and content created by Canadian digital publishers. 

Eastern Pictures of the Month

An award recognizing the work of News Photographers Association of Canada members living east of the Manitoba-Ontario border. 

Emerge Media Awards

A set of eight awards for projects by post-secondary students in journalism, communications and media studies across Canada.

Emerging Indigenous Reporter Internships And Bursaries

Indigenous journalists at the start of their careers and students are eligible to receive assistance in finding paid internships. Students are also eligible for scholarships.

Forum Freelance Fund

A set of bursaries and funds for freelance journalists to attend courses and workshops on safety.

George Meyer Leadership Award

An Alberta award recognizing individuals who position their newspaper as a community leader, and who do their own work to strengthen their community and industry.

Grace-Pépin Access to Information Award

A non-monetary award for an individual, group or organization that has contributed to the promotion and support of transparency, accountability and the public’s right to access information held by public institutions.

Greg Clark Award

An award for a journalist in the early stages of his or her career to spend a week looking at the inner workings of a newsroom.

Jack Webster Awards

A set of awards recognizing the work of British Columbian journalism.

The JHR/Canadian Association of Journalists Award for Human Rights Reporting

An award for a Canadian journalist whose work brings awareness to human rights issues and has an international scope.

Kenneth R. Wilson Awards

A set of 21 awards recognizing the best media and editorial work on business-to-business sites.

The Landsberg Award

An award for a journalist whose work has raised awareness for women’s equality issues in Canada.

Lifetime Achievement Award

An award for a Canadian journalist who has made significant contributions to Canadian journalism.

Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards

A set of awards celebrating excellence in community media in British Columbia and Yukon.

MCNA Better Newspapers Awards

A set of awards celebrating excellence in community media in Manitoba.

The Michener Award

An award for journalists and organizations whose work is done in an unbiased manner in public service.

National Magazine Awards

A set of 25 awards recognizing excellence in Canadian magazine publishing each year.

Western Pictures of the Month

An award recognizing the work of News Photographers Association of Canada members living west of the Manitoba-Ontario border. 

Tom Hanson Photojournalism Award

The winner receives a six-week paid photo internship with the Canadian Press’ office in Toronto. It is intended for a photojournalist in the early stages of his or her career.
