Winners to be announced June 10 at the Magazine Awards Gala.

The finalists for the National Magazine Awards were announced on May 2.

Judges looked at work from 184 English and French magazine, according to the Magazine Awards website. In total, 309 submissions are nominated. Toronto Life leads with 26 nominations, followed by The Walrus with 20 nominations, and Maclean’s and Maisonneuve with 18 a piece.

Writer Nicholas Hune-Brown has the most individual nominations with five, including two nominations in the columns category for his Hazlitt column “Studies Show” and his Sharp column, “The Reluctant Fanatic.”

The winners will be announced on June 10 at the Magazine Awards Gala.
