Veritas, a Canadian foundation dedicated to advancing journalism in the public interest, will co-host its third international conference with Investigative Reporters and Editors in Toronto at the Ryerson School of Journalism.

The conference, designed to promote knowledge-sharing across borders, will include panel discussions and workshops to “focus on issues of shared interest between the U.S. and Canada,” according to a press release from the foundation.

“The vital role investigative journalism plays in our lives is becoming increasingly evident to the public,” said Robert Cribb, president of the Veritas Foundation, in the press release. “Bringing together some of the leading investigative thinkers and practitioners across the continent, this conference provides a unique opportunity to explore emerging models of collaboration and cross-border journalism that are re-inventing how we meet our public interest mandate.”

Speakers will include Susanne Craig of the New York Times, Tanya Talaga of the Toronto Star and Will Fitzgibbon of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

Students are offered a discounted rate and all registrants receive a one-year membership to IRE.
