The Canadian Centre for Investigative Reporting (CCIR) has put a call
out for a volunteer fundraising professional.
The press release reads:
"Are you a recently accredited CFRE? Semi-retired fundraiser? One of the minions of ex-journalists whose rolodex (Did we say rolodex? We meant Blackberry) is still brimming with contacts? The Canadian Centre for Investigative Reporting (CCIR) needs your help!
"We are in need of someone with the energy and connections to develop the CCIR’s resources further, so that we can become stable and sustainable into the future. You should have a comprehensive knowledge of the fundraising field in Canada, as well as access to major individual and institutional donors. You will also need to be able to grow the CCIR’s funding base through campaigns that realize our three-year strategic goals. Successful candidates will need to be able to demonstrate initiative and work well independently. This position is suitable for candidates in the Greater Toronto Area.
"The CCIR, a registered charity in Canada, is the only independent investigative organization of its kind in Canada. The CCIR is governed by a national board of directors, with staff and headquarters in Hamilton, Ontario. The CCIR structure also includes an international advisory board of journalists and a network of investigative associate reporters, producers and editors.
"This is a voluntary position with many responsibilities, but also great opportunities as it’s intended to grow into an important paid position within the organization.
